What is scientific name for this:

I found this in a ravine a few years ago. I have found others when I was a kid, but not this large. Is weighs about 8 pounds and has a sandy texture. And no it's not a fossilized elephant testicle.

Geode. Commonly known as a "thunder egg".

edit : I take that back. Way too big.

2nd edit: well, if Johnson thinks so....maybe.

It looks like a geode. If so, they are somewhat hollow and typically "cracked open".

Gotta say icksnay to my state rock. At least the ones found round these parts, maybe thier exteriors vary in other parts of the country. Center sure looks geode-ish.
