Loads of Mango trees here on St. John. Everyone's favorite fruit. I have a grafted tree in my yard that I planted 15 years ago. It only fruits every 2-3 years but the fruits are almost football size, sweet, juicy and not stringy like some are. I love the juice with rum.?ÿ

As for the hedge apple.?ÿ It is not edible.?ÿ When ripe, puncturing the ball will result in a seepy, thick, gooey, Elmer's Glue type of liquid.?ÿ Getting it on our hands is harmless but you will suddenly have everything loose suddenly attracted to your hand and you can't get it off.?ÿ I have lost good-sized calves to those things.?ÿ It looks a bit like some other things they may have found tasty in their short lives, such as apples, pears and persimmons.?ÿ But, it is not tasty.?ÿ If they get it in their mouth and sort of waller it around, it can become lodged in the back of the mouth and block the windpipe.?ÿ Even full grown cattle, horses, donkeys and the like can die the same way with the larger hedge apples.

I have heard of a certain variety of wacky females that are described as being "bat s**t" crazy.?ÿ You never see a different mammal named as being: cat, dog, bear, etc. crazy.?ÿ Why do you suppose that is?
@dougie?ÿ
FWIW, I had a female Doberman for about 7 years and in that time I only ever heard her bark four or five times, the same with growling. But when she did it was a phenomenal sound, like the time when we were walking in the highlands at dusk and happened across a mango tree with a bat rustling in it, and the dog instinctively lit up with a deep rumble that almost shook the fruit out of the tree.

Insert a comma following "Why" to totally change the meaning of the sentence.?ÿ That would be appropriate for when your drinking buddy announces he/she is finally leaving you.
