Aw Heck,

It worked about 20 minutes ago, dammit!

Anyway I copied this FYI.

"At the instant of mid-totality (08:17 GMT), the Moon will lie in the zenith for observers in the Pacific Ocean southwest of Baja Mexico. At this time, the umbral eclipse magnitude peaks at 1.2561. Eclipse magnitude is the fraction of the Moon's diameter immersed in Earth's umbral shadow at greatest eclipse. This value is always 1.0 or larger for total eclipses."

Happy Holidays! 🙂

Like I said below,We won't be able to view it here, as clouds are already here and are to stay, with some snow forecast. "

There is a few clouds, but they are thin. I was just out and could see the moon, but it was filtered through the clouds.....

Keep your fingers crossed....;-)

Cheers,
Radar

Doug-

It's visible here in central Ohio (Delaware) through light clouds.

It's going to be very high tonight so you may get a look in Wapak.

An awesome place to be looking at the moon!

The forecast here is "cloudy" for the next 36 hours. There goes my chance to see a lunar eclipse on the winter solstice. 🙁

Plus we get a bonus of some freezing drizzle later tonight. I was just out shoveling some snow onto my driveway and sidewalk. Neighbor says, "What the hell are you doing?" I said, "Which one of us is going to have an easier time getting the ice off their sidewalk tomorrow, you with your clean-as-a-whistle sidewalk or me with my snow-covered one?" I think he's out there shoveling some snow onto his walk and driveway right now.

For God's Sake, Radar

What's with that avatar?

Some of us are of an age where a shock like that could trigger a heart attack or something. You need to be more careful with stuff like that.

Carl

I've waited as long as I can stand to wait. Please explain your avatar and what you are holding that is dark blue. Thank you.

I am just thankful that it was not the one pic with the daisy dukes, that $hi+ scarred many good men for life.

Got to see it here in Western Oregon - through the clouds with occasional holes. My wife got up just before totality and watched it disappear. Then, back to bed.

Cool. It was supposed to be overcast and raining.

Clear skies in Lawton last night and it was a great show. I took a bunch of photos but none of them look very good and certainly cannot compare to the actual view. Old mister moon sure was straight up though. Had to lay on my back to keep from straining my neck.

Strangely I decided to turn in after the full eclipse and there must have been something with the moon. I woke up in a field this morning, naked, with a half eaten rabbit next to me.

I thought we all agreed never to speak of "that picture" ever again....

Our "local" moon was visible, but I don't think the other was, I didn't wake up to check.
