Sitting downstairs taking cover from the storms. Me, my wife and my 11 yr old daughter are playing the Disney Headbandz game. The storms are bearing down on us; tornado warning until 7:15. Keep us and everyone in the path of these storms in your thoughts and prayers.
Good luck!
David, you are getting the storms that blessed us in Central Kentucky all afternoon....sirens, wind, warnings, etc....hunker down...
Yikes...stay safe!
We were spared here in my immediate area. Many people are being pounded by these storms. I've heard reports of whole neighborhoods being wiped out.
Our turn was two nights ago. Here it was straight line winds in excess of 120 mph.
Branson, Missouri was hit very hard that same night. Went right down the main strip tearing up the theatres, hotels, motels and such.
Feeling you bro. Weather is squirrelly here too.
I lived in Cincinnati back in '74 when 7 tornadoes blew through on the same day. It shakes me to this day when i see that sickly green sky. It sounds like you had a plan, good on ya. I hope you are well.
We had a couple nearby here in NW GA last night. One was right in SteveP's area. Some may know him from the old rpls.com site or the SAMSOG group. He used to come by for a beer now and then but I haven't seen nor heard from him in about a couple of years.
The several that blew through Harrisburg, IL over the last couple of days kind has me a little concerned. Most all of my kin, myself included, are from that area of southern IL. The only news so far is from my nephew who is attending SIU-Carbondale and watched the storms pass by the other day where it killed a bunch of people.
I've been through 7 (yes seven) tornados myself. Sometimes it's excellirating. Other times it's down right terrifying. The last one was about 15 years ago and punched striaght down out of nowhere about 50 feet from where I was sitting. I have nightmares about them all too often. Same goes for major lightening events.
Sometimes I jokingly wonder if God is either a bad shot or he just likes me. I prefer the latter. 🙂
My best wishes to all those effected by the recent storms.
David
They came close to home. Paulding County got hit. An elementary school got hit pretty hard, losing a roof and several trailers. It sure cooled off this morning.

I watched the Weather Channel all evening after things wound down here; my mother lives in Powder Springs and one of my sisters lives just north of there on the west side of Marietta. They had some storms bearing down on them too.
Here is a pic of the one that had us taking cover. My great-uncle took this photo in Ashland, KY, about 10 miles west of us.
Yup is was a busy tornado day yesterday. As of this morning there were 95 confirmed tornadoes yesterday. I say March has come in with a roar!!
Glad you guys are safe.
roger that Andy
The Paulding county line is within walking distance from me.
