We've been stuck in a pattern for two weeks of high 80's, high-humidity and regular afternoon showers and thundershowers here in northern NH. I was gonna whine about it, but after watching the news, I'd better not complain.
Furnace Creek CA:
Same deal over here in Maine, Perry. It could indeed be a lot worse.
Oh what I would give for high 80's...
Yesterday, we set a record of 108 (old weather station at old military base) & 107 (old AF base turned into municipal airport). Now we have a cold front, that is what the weather men called it, coming through this a.m. and bringing a little rain. Low tonight forecast for 68°, then back into the mid 90's.
I thought you meant the movie
Took Mrs. Cow yesterday to see "The Heat" starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy (Molly of Mike & Molly). She laughed her fool head off throughout the entire movie. Maybe it's because watching a woman point a gun at a man's genitals and then pulling the trigger multiple times seems funny to women yet unthinkable to men. The story line has Bullock as a very talented FBI agent being forced to work with streetwise, foul-mouthed McCarthy's Boston cop role. McCarthy is so hardcore that she put her own brother in prison. It is actually quite entertaining if you can ignore 800 uses of the F-word, a dozen MF's, and many, many uses of all the standard nasty words you know. Check it out on the IMDB website before going.
The Big Bang Theory fans will learn that the actor who plays Barry Krepke on that show can actually pronounce his "R's". Comedy Central fans will enjoy Michael McDonald's appearance. SNL fans will know Taran Killam, Jane Curtin and a couple of others.
Here's the 5-day forecast for my area:
We usually get a few consecutive days over 100°, but not usually this hot. It's not going to be a pleasant week.
Ugh. First summer I ever spent in Maine (1975) it hit 105° once -- I don't think it's done that since.
It was supposed to be 106 today - but it rained and stayed cool!
But still...
"We've been stuck in a pattern for two weeks of high 80's, high-humidity.."
We've got a term for that here in Houston. December.
