I am truly amazed at this story, as I have surveyed in that area and it is ROUGH. Apparently she walked 3/4 mile to the house she found, barefooted and wearing shorts, in the dark. We drove within a mile of there around the time it happened on our way to eat, and it was a miserable, cold, drizzly night. We had an ice storm in 2009 and all the wooded tracts in this end of the state have been really tough to get through ever since, broken tree tops, down trees, and briars. She has to be pretty tough, as well as really lucky.
