It was cool and cloudy all morning here with a light south breeze. I think it made up to sixty, but it didn't feel like it. One weatherman had predicted a front to pass through around 4PM. I watched radar and predicted it would be more like 2PM.

The north wind arrived with a dominant presence around 2:15PM. The temps have dropped thirty degrees in 3 hours. Sustained wind: two-niner-zero at 35mph. Gusts to 45. Man, the weather can turn in a heartbeat down here.

Put on a pot of beans to steam up the kitchen and warm slippers for my rear paws. Some of the guys have already called to tell me they won't be in very early. I don't blame them. Ol' November is here...Good "Stay Indoors" Music

Oh, we're livin' good. We are still 36 with steady wind at 18 for a wind chill of 26. Of course the gusts to 38 drop that a bit more.

Meanwhile in the far corner of the State at my father-in-law's apartment it is currently 16 with steady wind at 14, gusting to 23. Current wind chill is 2 with one inch of snow on the ground to flavor things a bit.

At least your office doesn't smell like Special Fried Duck and Tom Yum Soup

That is something for which I am thankful. Homecooked chicken with a corn casserole fit the bill perfectly.

Vietnamese take-out

About fifteen years ago there was a "lunch counter" in the atrium of the complex where I officed, ran by a Vietnamese couple. They had good-old-American biscuits n' gravy or doughnuts for the breakfast menu. At lunch you could have a ham 'n swiss...or some awfully delicious Vietnamese cuisine. It used to make the place smell wonderful.

I was partial to their pho (noodle soup), but they also had some great garlic chicken. I always trotted back upstairs with my lunch in a Styrofoam box. The garlic chicken was so odiferous I had to sneak around to other people's offices to throw the remains away. I couldn't leave it in my trash; the smell was too overpowering.

I got caught several times depositing my lunch remains in other's trash cans. After that I was "outed" and forced to walk my lunch trash outside to the dumpster...what shame..:snarky:

Vietnamese take-out

If given the opportunity, Pho will be my last meal on Earth.
