It was by far the best commercial, Not for me

:good:

huge multimillion or billion-dollar corporations are not humans. They are entities. Not public entities, but private entities. Their objective is to make money. The ad writers are pandering to your heart-strings to sell their product. The ad-writers don't care about you either. They are writing ads they hope the companies will pay them for. No: Companies are not looking out for your best interests and companies don't care about you or the military troops beyond whether you will give them more money. Sorry.

superbowl ads

Read it online. about 40% of the .com's that have advertised with superbowl ads have gone belly up, and others such as best buy are not doing well (closed shop locally). Many of the big advertisers have reduced market share after running ads. Of course this may well be due to the economy, but many commercials seem to be made by adolescents, and have the opposite effect with me.

Conspiracy theory: "lights out" was just so they could get that emblem on the cameras.

Before you go "all perfect and all knowing" on me, why not check what that ad was really about. It's all part of a program that evidently you have not heard of, so your's is a position of ignorance.
Don't give a damn who owns Jeep, the good works they are doing for the returning vets trumph your silly cynacism any day.
Again, where in the ad did they do one thing about us buying a vehicle. it was a polite "Thank You". Something so many here are incapable of saying.

" I realize they sell far more to city folks so they can pretend they are 'country' than they do those who actually use them for what they were intended."

Actually i'm on dodge number four, here. Letting the cat out of the bag, here. The reason I like the dodge (primary reason anyway) is i can work on it easily. One thing about dodge trucks is they provide enough hand and arm room to easily access parts.
You can't do that with a GM product.

> I fully agree. I guess it is because I grew up on a farm, but it was my favorite. I did like the Clydesdale ad too. Some were just plain stupid.
>
> Andy

That was my favorite for obvious reasons... B-)

(You guys DO know where the Clydesdales originate from right??? :-$ )

I miss my old Dodge... :'(

When I was born, Mom bought a 1971 Dodge Demon. My grandpa told her she needed a "solid American car" and that was what they picked out. The car was named "Sharlet" because, well, we didn't like the demon name. :-/

When I turned 18, Sharlet was given to me. I had her until 1997; I was dirt poor and she was breaking down constantly so I had to sell her. Fortunately she went to a good home whose owner had another one just like her. Man I sure miss her, though!!! :'(

My bike, Sharlet and I...1976. Sharlet being the big red thing there in the driveway corner.
B-)

Mom and I and Sharlet in the garage. 1979 or 1980.

I have more but I have to scan them...someday. :snarky:

I liked the commercials.

Some were meant to be funny...some were meant to be clever.

I also liked the movie previews. World World Z, a more probable zombie like apocalypse.

Now the halftime show was a different story.

I'm sure that Beyoncé is beautiful and talented, but I just couldn't relate. I would have rather seen 30 minutes of the Blue Collar Tour or something like that.
