I hope y'all have plenty of firewood and backup generators. From what the news is showing it looks like you're in for quite a blizzard. Y'all just be careful out there.
Andy
All set on the wood etc...
Don't know about Thadd, but he's probably settled in, too...
thanks for thinking of us! Ocean effect snow can be a white out occasion, coupled with winds forecast in excess of 70 mph, it's going to be a doozy of a weekend! We have town water so water isn't an issue if the power goes out, plenty of food, and plenty of wood, nice and dry.
I live on main st. which happens to be a State Highway, too, so power isn't out long for me, usually... Maybe 12 hours max, so far.... not like my other house where we've been without for a week...
Donald,
You should move to our old college stomping grounds where you rarely have to deal with anything like that.
T-shirts and shorts at Christmas. Sweating like a %@#&* in the summer 🙂
Shorts and t shirts at Christmas? Few people from here wear them then. Being from a cold climate, you might!
hmmm...
We could be in for a fun weekend.
My wife is full term, 1.5 cm dilated, second pregnancy.
The hospital is about 20 minutes away on a good day.
We have a 4wd Toyota Matrix that does fine in the snow.
Perhaps I will bring home some hot peppers, make her do jumping jacks and research the web for every other labor inducing method I can find.
Thanks for the good wishes.
Do what I did
Find a parking lot and "bounce" over all the speed bumps:-P
Seriously, be careful out there.
Andy
Hey cuzzin, I bellie laughed at that top picture. I have saved both. Both are worth a save and look at now and again. 😀
Buying supplies like the first pic above reminded me of my days in Michigan. You knew a bad one was coming when the supermarket ran out of cigarettes, beer and toilet tissue a day before the storm hit. People would go nuts and buy a two year supply of toilet paper.
Meanwhile, I was buying food and a week's supply of diapers for the baby.
Do what I did
Did it work?
She did not take my suggestions seriously. No hot peppers, no jumping jacks, no nookie. Darn her 'natural' tendencies...
I concerned that my client's camp will finally wash into the water. The first is a pic during Sandy and the second is just after. There used to be a dune out there that was 25-30' tall. Now there's a little hump. Not much in the way of protection.
The right corner of the camp is actually resting on the cistern. The whole camp is kinda being held up by three heavy anchors located behind the camp.
I will be taking some shots in the morning before things start up. Telephoto lens from a mile away.
Spledeus and Foggyidea>Hey Joey and Thadd
Thadd, Congratulations, I didn't know that you and Maria were expecting another!
Joey, Here's our forecast....90 foot waves, scheesh, not again!
Finally an accurate forecast!
Spledeus and Foggyidea>Hey Joey and Thadd
As it is not April 1, I would be headed as far away from there as I could get.:-$
Spledeus and Foggyidea>Revised forecast
Only 165' of snow predicted...100% chance of total chaos...
hmmm...
