Since my wife retired I had to go sign up for Medicare for my health insurance.?ÿ I started to process the first week of May.?ÿ Since Covid had all the Social Security offices closed I had to attempt to sign up on line and ask questions over the phone. A REAL hassle.?ÿ Of course, after a LONG wait, you get to talk to a person who may not have any idea about the subject.?ÿ I filled out forms, emailed the forms, faxed the forms, and tried to confirm that the necessary information got to the right person.?ÿ In October I FINALLY got the right forms to the right person (one even had to come from the company from which my wife retired).?ÿ THEN I get a bill from the insurance company who is handling the supplement because I did not verify that I was continuously covered before the Medicare took over (I was covered under COBRA after my wife retired).?ÿ The total bill, $0.70 per month.?ÿ Now I don't mind paying $0.70 per month (I paid a year in advance $8.40) but DANG, it's GOT to cost them more that $0.70 just to process the payment.
There is an advertisement on TV (car insurance I think) that shows people driving down the road with a coffee cup, a goldfish bowl, slippers, etc. on the roof.?ÿ It reminded me of a trip north on I-75 several years ago.?ÿ I was passing an old Cadillac that had the old "picnic table" bumper with an inset at the license plate for the gas filler cap.?ÿ There was a ladies purse sitting on the bumper.?ÿ As I pulled up beside the car I tooted the horn and pointed at the bumper and mouthed "purse".?ÿ I could see the older lady in the back seat (Miss Daisy?) grab her head and say "OH LORD".
Just rambling on a cold winter day.

A few years ago I got home from work and grabbed my TSC3 to put on the charger in the house. Just as I got out my wife opened the door all excited and said I had to see what she had caught. Over by the chimney was a dutch oven turned upside down, and under it was a copperhead snake. I grabbed the machete out of the truck to take care of it. ?ÿExt morning whne I got to the office, one of the guys that got there after Me asked if I knew where the DC was. It had ridden 20 miles down I-24 at 80 mph on the truck bumper. Whew!!
I recently got promoted and was asked if I would like new business cards. I completed the template, proofed it, and figured that was it. In response, I got two forms sent to me to request a purchase exemption during the pandemic induced budget crunch. Besides my time completing the forms, they then had to get approved by my first and second line supervisors. I asked how much the purchase total was (was required for the forms) and was told $30. I politely withdrew my request for new business cards as it would cost way more than $30 just for me to fill out the forms. Besides, it's not like I am going anywhere to hand them out to people any time soon.
