Here's 5 pages of photos I put online from the islands, enjoy... back stateside last night...kinda wore out...good to be in one spot for a moment to catch up and get my head back into the surveying game...
Great pictures and I especially like the stone story. I thought the airbus was more roomy though. It looks awfully cramped judging from the photo.
Great pictures!
Thanks for sharing.
As usual...nice photo's Daryl!

was quite roomy actually Deral but probably because the flights to and from the Seychelles were more then half empty. We were able to lift the arm rests on the inside rows and crash out for 5 hours. Emirates is a great airline.
Thanks.
enjoyed it all.
Daryl
Really enjoyed the pictures especially the ones from Belgium. Maybe Christof will post with a juicy story of your visit. Naw, probably not. He has enough integrity to not tell tales about a fellow surveyor.

Hi John... yeah...we almost didn't connect up...his computer was treating my emails as spam and my phone with contacts was destroyed to the sea...
...we talked about you and the GPS you did with him ... sounds pretty cool... would have loved to stay longer... but I'll be back through there to somewhere..
Daryl
The last link of your return to Amsterdam appears to be broken.
John
Yes...I have yet to post it...Mary dragged me off to breakfast with some fam.... I'll get it posted in a couple three hours

Daryl,
great pictures as always,
especially the blue light series in Paris with some pics of the Eiffel tower at an unusual angle. Great work again.
John,
we talked about our different surveying adventures, sometimes a little confusing when I referred to the bears and Daryl was talking about beers ... had a great time.
Oh yeah, we had the Light festival this weekend in Ghent ... the show was amazing, a 4 km walk through the old center ... some pictures from an amateur

Hi Christof
In the video, there was a segment where people were looking up through some hand held disks. Did the disks impart some sort of wierd effect to the lights?
We saw a light show similar to this one the last time we were at Disneyland. It was projected on the It's a Small World building. Pretty amazing stuff.
What was the idea at the begining of the video with people riding exercise bikes?
You said "we talked about our different surveying adventures..." Did that include Daryl's trip to the red light district in Amsterdam? Go ahead you can tell us the truth. Nobody but me and you will know.
John
Hey Daryl,
River Seine shot “one” looks like a Van Gogh interpretation really cool!
Great pic's, as usual!
Have a great week.

I think this was at the inside of the cathedral. We did not see this part ... the show was rather crowded with 200.000 people on Saturday night. There were long rows with waiting people for the inside shows. To me it looks as the people had to make their own light show by illuminating parts of the cathedral with the small mirrors they use.
What was the idea at the beginning of the video with people riding exercise bikes?
That was the start of the festival, the power to start up the led cathedral was generated by the people cycling ... to pay attention to the low power impact of the festival.
...
as for your other questions ...

Enjoying your travel as well as your photo ART right here from cold and windy central Indiana.
You really should come to visit sometime.
The barren corn and bean fields are beautiful in the winter.
Also the cans of Budweiser are always cold.
Thanks Daryl
Ha...always wondered what the site looks like on other monitors...Thanks! Excellent music as well!
My grandma on Dad's side was from Muncie, Indiana ... I fished in a pond on her farm as a kid too many years ago ... it was like huckleberry finn when I think on it now...
Thanks Daryl
Then we must plan a visit. I can take you to the Ott Family Farm in Noble County.
John "Utt" Ott acquired from Uncle Sam in 1835.
Patent was signed by Martin Van Buren. I have a copy.
Seriously lets plan a visit sometime.
