Contract is up on the driod, so I figure I'll go back to a different phone plan. I'm Looking at a red dot wireless smart phone and just a tablet. save me $600 a year.
I'm sticking with my Verizon unlimited data plan as long as they'll let me. Then I will make serious consideration for moving elsewhere or changing plans. My only hope is that my next phone can be as awesome as my Galaxy Nexus. In fact, I can't imagine having any other phone at this moment in time, but of course it will eventually be obsolete. I think the longevity of it is pretty good though, it does far more than I need it to at this point and plus having a tablet takes some of the heat off the phone. 🙂
I'll never get a phone "plan"/"bundle" ever again. I'm not that important to be in touch with anyone 24 hours a day anywhere - like I go anywhere.
I've been on MagicJack for several years and no one can argue with the price.
OK, so I can't call outside the lower 48 states. Friends I have across both ponds can hit me on Skype for free on both ends of the call... ala Radu.

Wait!
I haven't scaled up yet.
I see people walk out of the office door at quitting time and the smart phone reflexively goes up in front of their face. This baffles me? Or women backing out huge SUVs in tight parking lots while concentrating on the phone.
I'm looking at buying an unlocked Nexus but understand the desire for latest: have you heard when the replacement is coming out? (Also, if yours is an unlocked GSM and you wish to sell it....)
:good:
I got a smart phone too, it rings when I get a call and the rest of the time it's quietly in my pocket.:-P
Now that's really smart!:-P
Red Dot?
As in a phone that got wet, or is there another meaning to the term?

You can keep it forever as long as you don't change your service agreement... Go to the apple store buy a phone for $800, take it to verizion and hook it up on your current plan. Changing hardware does not change your service agreement UNLESS you get a discounted phone and a new service contract. I have verizion unlimited data on an iPhone.
