Spring Forward One Hour for daylight savings time. Fall back one hour to get back to regular time. Not correcting you, but people don't need to be 2 hours late.

I heard a rumor that there was talk of not falling back; always, staying sprung forward...

Works for me!

I did that once?ÿ when I was about 11 or 12. It worked fine until the first time my Dad asked me what time it was. After that, I got with the program.

Standard time seems more natural to me. Our local noon jibes with standard time since we are roughly at the center of our time zone.

There has to be a fresh crop of numbnuts stumping for this DST year-round. ?ÿHappened onto Vice News the other night while switching channels and caught a new angle on the retailers push for DST. ?ÿFrom what I could remember of this new DST pitch, *fewer burglars will be out because they wake up later .. ?? and they don't like to burgle in the daylight .. something something .. *

Patiently waiting for the usual tell of an industry push, where some group claims DST will create 875,000 new jobs in America. ?ÿ

[sarcasm]Shucks, why don't we move it 4 hours and create 3.5 million jobs.?ÿ [/sarcasm]

Time of day does not matter to me as much as it did a lifetime ago when I had a downtown office and had to keep up appearance and traditions of downtown culture.

Solo work is more of get r done asap and try not to be seen doing it. I always enjoy a client that calls up an tells me that they never knew I was there until they noticed the tpost and orange flagging.

Coincidentally, New Zealand DST ends on 7 April. And at that time, I'll be there with my legacy GPS. Hopefully it wont suddenly say I'm in Tasmania.

I back up files to a flash drive or transfer between computers using a batch file with XCOPY.

After a time change, the times on the files don't match and it copies everything (gigabytes) over with an hour later time stamp. Somewhat of a nuisance.

If that happened, many businesses and even government offices would probably eventually institute summer and winter hours.?ÿ Some would adjust fixed hours to compromise schedules. ?ÿThat transition would incur some confusion and summer/winter hours would be inconsistent across the community.?ÿ What it says on the clock is sorta arbitrary, as there are sun times we like to do some things.

The effect of DST is to make a slightly less painful/confusing transition, with everybody adjusting at once.?ÿ

When we visited the Grand Canyon last summer, we stayed in Cameron, AZ. My cell phone would change randomly between DST and STD. I think it depended on if I was connected to wifi or 4g. The locals used DST but the state doesn't. Or is it reverse? The alarm clock in the room stayed the same so that's the one we used as a check.
