Here is the predicament.?ÿ One of the local cats that shows up to be fed daily had some kittens recently.?ÿ Today she brought three out to join the world.?ÿ Assuming that is the entire litter.?ÿ Each kitten is about eight inches long plus the tail, so they are of an age to start exploring.?ÿ One did not behave like the others.?ÿ Caught it and immediately noticed its eyes were still closed although it was well past that time.?ÿ We carefully worked with it and discovered it has no eyeballs.?ÿ So long as it stays by its mother it is OK.?ÿ But, that will not go well indefinitely.

I'm thinking getting it a seeing-eye dog will not work out well.?ÿ What sort of creature would make a good seeing-eye animal for a cat?

You probably won't need to worry, too much longer; if there's coyotes about...

No doubt about the coyotes.?ÿ And deer, raccoons (sorry, can't shorten), opossum, ground hogs, armadillos, etc.

I've always been a firm believer in letting nature take its course.?ÿ It's not always pretty and can seem cruel, but I think every living creature deserves its chance against the odds.

My brother's cat had a litter years ago that included a kitten that had no equilibrium and was deaf.?ÿ The poor thing couldn't even walk, it had to crawl.?ÿ The vet wanted to "humanely" put it away.?ÿ "Silly Putty" eventually got her sea legs and could motivate in a crouched position.?ÿ Her head wobbled constantly and when she would attempt to jump (she was a cat after all) she was prone to knock stuff over and generally make a mess.?ÿ ?ÿShe lived to the ripe old age of 17 and was happy as a lark.

One of my Aussie Shepherds is deaf.?ÿ She's at my feet now as I type.?ÿ She's overcome a lot of obstacles and is a really good dog.?ÿ It's a little weird to have a dog that responds to facial expressions rather than verbal commands, but I love her dearly.

Having a blind cat might be something special...give her a chance.

Indoor cat, it will find its way about the house. Might be a good lap cat.

speaking of animals, a female pit bull mix showed up in our backyard, sweet dog but petrified of me. A couple of the neighbor ladies I summoned for help coaxed her out of her hiding place with a bribe of treats. Phone number on tag never heard of her. Search on Facebook for lost dogs, first hit a picture that same dog. Owner was very happy to get her dog back. Burned her paws trotting around the neighborhood on a very hot afternoon.

No indoor creatures other than humans allowed.?ÿ Some of those aren't allowed either.

If it were me, Iwould make one large trip to the vet, get the little one put down cause you can;t spend your entire days watching out for her.

And if you're gonna' keep a bunch of those cats around the house why not get them fixed ??ÿ Get it all done in one trip to the vet.

We have a stray that survived a car and for days was expected to pass away. It didn't move but breathed. It pulled through, has only one eye left, and is about half the average size of cat as it never resumed growing. Turned out to be a spunky good cat but I'm not sure about a blind cat.

?ÿ
