I had my first cataract surgery this morning. All went well and I can still see. A little blurred at the moment and having to wear dark glasses but hoping for the best. I have a "distance" lens in my right (dominant) eye and will have a "close" lens in my left. I'll still have to wear glasses, but I have been wearing them for 50 years so it won't be that big a deal. I can already tell a difference in how bright colors and lights are.

The doctor kept my both eyes covered and packed with goo for two days before I saw light again.

Keep doing the eye exercise routine on a regular basis and you will see better longer.

I never knew that the eyes needed exercise, it does really work that way..........

I'm glad for you Andy. I have cataract surgery to look forward to in 10-15 years (so says the eye doc). It'll be a little tense since I now only have one eye that has any sight.

Have you seen ultraviolet colors yet?

None that I am aware of. While the vision is not "crisp" yet I do have 20/20 in the right eye. I will only have "intermediate" in the left when done.

The way medical science is progressing in 10 years they should be able to, fix/replace/restore, complete eyesight in anyone.
Think positive. 🙂
