I just went on a trip with my active military friend to Oahu. Wow, what a huge difference from going as a civilian! I had the privilege of staying on bases, in a nice, safe bubble! ?????ÿ
I was able to see so many different historical things that the general public will never get to see. Very somber, humbling, peaceful, and beautiful places and sites. Here's some pics!!! ?????ÿ
Warmest water I ever felt in Hawaii! Hickam AFB Beach! ???§????
Hickam Field Historical Sign. Still in use of course. ???§????
Apple Bananas!!!!!!!!!!!!! Delicious!!!! ???
Hickam AFB "Battery" Thing. I told my friend "Dang, that's a lot of Duracells in there!" ????
l named this one "Fat Boy". Friend said they are called "Heavies".
lsland Traffic. Rush Hour. It was reminiscence of L.A. Traffic.
For the first 3 nights, we had a nice cabin on the beach at this place. It was bliss!!
Got to visit this place...Well, the beach by it. ????
An Angel Memorial for a kid who drowned at this beach.???¨
One must always get Shaved Ice and Coconut Balls while on the Island. ?????ÿ
Ok, not a military base but great photographic spot! Lagoons at Ko'Olina! ???
A very sacred Hawaiian Cemetery. The chickens are even protected!! ??¦?
And...The USS Arizona. View From Ford Island. I cannot explain in words the feelings and emotions I felt while standing at this spot. Just...surreal to say the least. ???? ???§???? ???
Me and the Infamous Banyan Tree right across from where you can view the USS Arizona.
You can walk inside of it and stare straight up!! ????
The USS California Plaque. ???§???? ???
The USS Utah Memorial. Man.... No Words. ???§???? ???
The USS Oklahoma Memorial.
I walked through those marble pillars and touched each one of them and thanked them! ???§???? ???

Lucky girl!!!
If I had any friends, I'm sure none of them would invite me to go to Hawaii with them.
If you were as caring and compassionate as Angel they might. On second thought you??re probably right.
We didn't get Mr. Rogers Neighborhood when I was little.?ÿ It's all his fault for not being on my TV.
Bunny Rabbit, Mr. Moose and Grandfather Clock were nice but not nearly so social-emotional.
Specifically what did "Grandfather Clock" do? Moose, Rabbit, and Green Jeans just looked at each other and responded with 2 word sentences. ?????ÿ
@flga-2-2?ÿ
He normally would chat with Captain Kangaroo for a bit then fall asleep.
My influence was from Bugs Bunny, Rod Runner, and Jerry(the mouse); and a little from Foghorn Leghorn, but not much.
So there's that...
I'm a Foghorn Leghorn and Yosimite Sam kinda person....
@angel - sorry about screwing up your post... ?????ÿ
