Lately, I've been having problems with NGS bookmarks. www.ngs.noaa.gov, and my direct link to the datasheets search engine have not been working well for a month or so, but they usually redirect me to a working site ... today, I can't get anything to work on the NGS site. Is it just down today?

Beats me Pseudo!

I have links to dozens of NGS Web sites (and FTP locations), and I just tried the first dozen or so, and they ALL worked fine.

Wow. This is wierd. When I click my link above from my main CAD computer, I get "could not be found". I just went to my other computer, and the same link works fine ... great, now I have to figure out if I have a hi-jacker on my CAD computer ...

On the subject of NGS links, here's one someone gave me that is very handy to get a single datasheet without going through a lot of menus. I can't seem to make a link here with all of the stuff for the URL, so will try to give steps to assemble it yourself.

Copy and paste the following into a text editor and put it together as one long line with no spaces. Copy that line so you can paste it later.

javascript:void(str=prompt('PID:',''));
if(str){location.href=
'http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/ds_mark.prl?PidBox='
+escape(str);}

Make a Firefox bookmark or IE "Favorite" for anything. Edit its properties and replace its location info by pasting the long line you assembled. Enter appropriate name and description in those blanks.

When you click on it later it should pop up with a blank for the PID.
