I usually savor my New Yorker on the weekend when I have time to absorb the content: insightful, in-depth articles about an amazingly wide variety of fascinating subjects, exciting new fiction, hilarious cartoons, liberal commentary (smile), reviews of literature, theater, music, food...endless entertainment in other words.
The last several weekends, unfortunately, SWMBO has run me ragged with chores, travel and other seemingly pointless pursuits, so that I now find myself looking at a stack of 5 unread issues.
Will I ever catch up? (Who cares)
I know I can live without the most recent New York restaurant reviews (Tables for Two) and reportage of that nature, but, at the same time, I don't want to miss it. Is that obsessive? (yes)
Obviously relaxing here (smile) finally, on a Sunday afternoon, just opening the June 6 issue and another beer.
Don
I'm STILL boycotting over the hiring of Tina Brown in 1992 😉
I get it on my Kindle. Takes a little getting used to reading it this way but it's really convenient to always have the latest issue (and back issues) available when I find my self waiting at the doctor's office or something.

Be sure not to miss the short story "Homage to Hemingway" by Julian Barnes appearing in last week's issue.
How on Earth did I ever allow myself to fall in with a gang of New Yorker readers? The shame! The shame!

you're just lucky that way...

My sister lived in Massaschusetts for a few months in 1966. She gave my parents a subscription to what I think was called "Yankee". It was sort of a small magazine a little bigger than Reader's Digest, as I recall. The one feature I always enjoyed reading was called Yankee Tintinabulations.
Holy. Yankee mag
That magazine is now almost full size and not worth reading very much. Up until the mid 90's I received a subscription but then cancelled it because it became to commercial and not fun.
It used to be such a good magazine when was that small format...
My new Yorker subscription continues on though!
