I'll second "Cinema Paradiso" and add "Jean de Florette"/"Manon of the Spring".

While we're at it, "La Belle et La Bete", by Jean Cocteau.

"Jean de Florette"/"Manon of the Spring" are great movies, but you don't want to be sitting next to Gerard Depardue on a plane :-O

Wow....I am not familiar with any of those SC. Maybe I will try to check them out.

I must say I would have expected at least someone to say 'The Blues Brothers' movie. Great music.

I also would have expected more (than one) to go for 'Young Frankenstein' (That's "frankensteen")

I second:
Stand by Me
Cool Hand Luke
Oh Brother Where Art Thou
Blazing Saddles
The Three Amigos
Clint Eastwood movies (don't know why but I just like most all of his movies)

I also like the Pixar movies and second "Toy Story" and "Ratatouille" as well as most of the others.

Funny, it's on every christmas but I have never watched the whole thing. "The Christmas Story". Everyone talks about how great it is. I think I will sit through it next christmas. I just start it and it seems like some kid that wants a bb-gun and a few other things.....but I have a feeling I haven't given it a chance.

I know there are more. This is mainly from looking at the lists above.

Yikes,
I consider the Marcel Pagnol films also. They would be on my list.
If I had to pick a Fellini , it would be Amacord. I loved the peacock scene.
Fellini movies always effected me in a physical nature while watching.
I got dizzy watching Satyricon

I like Cocteau's Beauty also but The Andulusian Dog was just too wierd and surreal for me.
