Well, New Zealand is now being locked down.

Looks like I get to stay on a home holiday for the next month...

Day two off work for me, this is nothing like a weekend.

I am developing a schedule to help manage my time.

For the past six months or so walking has been my form of exercise, usually 5 miles or so every other day.?ÿ

I went for a walk in the park yesterday and have never seen so many people there, but this is Cleveland so it is really not that many people as this place is kind of a ghost town anyway.

I am working on fine tuning my walking locations and schedule, the day before I went for a walk in the industrial area but some yokel thought I was scoping to loot and took the time to inform me of his ownership of firearms and willingness to use them, being the genius that he clearly was he had his kids video the interaction on their phones.?ÿ

Good luck in NZ, I have family that just cancelled a month long vacation there.

We have changed the "Interesting Times" curse to better reflect the current circumstances.

May You Live THROUGH Interesting Times

We are a small Mom and Pop who contract to provide surveying in remote places of Alaska. All these places involve air and/or boat transportation and unusual housing requirements. Although we have contracts for the field season, the unusual travel and housing restrictions in many locations could cancel jobs. Some villages are not allowing non-residents in. Time will tell. Although we do not live Pay Check-Pay Check, missing a years field season would be hard.

I'm thinking of it as "a month of sundays"

Its a great opportunity, and I'm not going to waste it.

Nor is my wife, who has made me a To-Do list easily a year long 🙂

Good luck in NZ, I have family that just cancelled a month long vacation there.

NZ depends heavily on the tourism industry. It is one of our biggest foreign exchange earners. With closed borders it is completely shutdown. And our trade with China likewise.

Its going to take a long while to recover from this one.

And here was I thinking earthquakes were bad enough...

You are not alone down there in New Zealand. Alaska is more or less in the same boat. Heavily dependent on tourism, the cruise ships won't be flooding the State with tourist. China is one of the largest markets for Alaska's seafood exports, already crippled by the tariff wars, will now be kicked while on the ground, and with government largely funded by petroleum exports, the price war between Russia and Saudi has evaporated the budget. It's the perfect storm.?ÿ I'm able to work from home but that is not the case for many. My bread and butter is telecommunications support, which is in high demand. We will persevere, there are no other options. Winter is always followed by Spring. I'll make it down that way one of these days. It's on my bucket list.

Best PSA that I saw was from New Zealand. Simple animated Jeff. Brief and showed the math of shelter in place and social contact I shared it with some local politicos here explaining that this is more effective than words on paper and people standing at a podium.

Anyone of all ages and education levels can see it. Follow The Game Plan and the math will work.
