I bet he told his wife how hard he was working too.

I see that the woodshed is full already just after maple sugar season, you must have split a lot of wood last year.

So, how many gallons of syrup did you get? A friend of mine that has a sugar bush in western New York told me that the sugar content was real high this year and even though he got less sap he made more syrup.

As mild

as this past winter was that pickup load of firewood will last me two or three years.

Ended up with 149 gallons of syrup, almost 3 times the 51 gallons from last year! Burned 9.5 cords of mostly softwood. Good season for me, though I did tap a few more trees than last year. It was the best season since 2000.

Perry:

That is a pretty good yield and a nice chunk of change when you get it all sold. I just read a short article about the "new government regulations proposed for sugar bush operators", they just can't leave people alone.
