A coworker is now using one of the new Sharpie liquid pencils. I tried it out and it seems pretty good. The writing looks just like a lead pencil and erases easily. The reviews are not so good, but I didn't have issues with writing or the flow of the liquid. Most of the issues seem to be with the flow not being consistent.

I am still using a pentel P205.
biggest challenge is keeping it from walking away.
neat idea. never heard of it but now i'll have to have it.
I use my trusty p205 as well. I tried a liquid pencil a while back and didn't really like it.
Why not just use one of those erasable ink pens. I think PaperMate makes them. But, come to think of it, I haven't seen one of those in forever.
Those things look cool! SIGH, however, I'm only allowed to use crayons and they take them away from me if I start eating 'em. 😉
Have a great weekend!
I am right there with you on the P205. I also have a P203 for the small stuff. I only use them for my calculations. All other writing is a red Pilot G-2 in 05. For the field I have a standard Staedtler Mars lead holder (no need for an eraser in the field book).

Back in the summer of 1988 I had a P205 that I painted orange because I was surveying fiber-optic cables for AT&T across the bean and cornfields of western Iowa. Inevitably I would lose that cherished pencil during prelim surveys, but against all odds I would later find it again when we went back over the route for construction staking which we did in sections. I think this happened at least three times.
So, I called it my "Lucky Pencil". I took the SIT exam with it in 1992 and passed. Then I took the LS exam in 1994 and passed.
My Lucky Pencil now stays at my desk along with my HP-41CX calculator. 🙂
Using a Pentel 3 that I bought in 71 while in school. Bought 2 but one was damaged and now resides in a desk drawer.

I use a P209 or similar. I just keep busting the 0.5mm lead every time I put it to paper. But I might have to try out this liquid pencil.
I wonder how it works on wet paper in the rain? Us pacific north-westerners need to know.
I like this review...

WOW ITS A PEN!!!!!!!!!!
P207 for most things. Had one for 15 years that no one else gets to use (they always forget where they got it) the only thing the eraser is for is to keep the lead from falling out.

Does your wife know about this pencil? She might be jealous.

I picked one up (actually 2, they come in packages). The marking rubs off the paper easily, way easier than regular pencil smudges. I will not be using this pencil for field notes.
On the plus side, it easily erases completely.
