We use lots of Tecnu here in the northeast. Excellent product.
Hack
What I used to do was identify the locations somehow during summer/fall, then de-root in the winter before the frost set in. Same for vines growing up trees. Take the machete and chop a 2' section out near ground level, and do your best to get the roots. The upper parts will just never come back, but you do have the vines still there that will choke off the tree.
DO NOT BURN IT, as noted above. Also, stay away in early spring before the leaves come out. Worst blisters I ever got from that stuff was mid March. I got a rope cut type of laceration whilst brushing through a swamp. Turned out to be a poison ivy vine, and my arm was bigger than my leg and spread all through my body. Doc fixed me up, but yikes.
If you want some instant results aside from the roundup approach, mix a 70-30 spray bottle of pinesol & water, respectively. Put some borax soap in there and will help kill the bugs as a bonus. Just spray it on and it tends to choke their ability to absorb CO2, but you'll have to do it on a regular basis.
i use a similar product as well
Get yourself a couple 2.5 gallons of generic roundup. Roundups patent expired? some time ago and everybody is now making it. I use "Credit Extra" ???. Google the phrase "41% Glyphosate" and you'll find many sellers. Quite cheap actually. Mix 3 oz. per gallon of water. my order comes in two 2.5 gallon containers for maybe $50.00. Lasts for years. Same thing the farmers spray on their no-till crops. In spring when the weeds are calf high, they spray and plant at the same time. By the time the plants are thoroughly dead (2 weeks±) , the crops start to sprout. Supposedly does not affect new growth. I hope not, the farmers use the corn for feed. I have a 25 gallon sprayer that I keep fencelines open with on our 60 acre farm.
In the mid 70's,I responded to an ad to work at Longue Vue Gardens in Old Metairie.
It seemed that Mrs. Stern was an invalid and the maintenance was suffering.
They wanted to hire me to yank out an abundance of poison ivy on the site. I declined.

It's already on the shelves of your local grocery store. The common name for N-L-alpha-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine 1-methyl ester is Aspartame.
