Has anyone here ever taken the MENSA test to determine your IQ?
Long time ago, but don't remember my score (or much of anything else these days).
?
97 is good, right??ÿ (nearly 100).
My oldest sister was a member years ago.?ÿ I wasn't so impressed with her "smarty pants" friends.?ÿ
She called one night from their little get together with a problem; one of the member's car had a dead battery.?ÿ Another member had some jumper cables in their trunk but was unsure how to use them.?ÿ After a confusing phone conversation with the owner of the jumper cables I?ÿdrove up there to help out.?ÿ
The fella had his trunk open and had a fine brand new?ÿ20' nylon tow-strap ready to use.?ÿ No wonder he was so adamant on the phone there were ONLY two ends.?ÿ He was right.
I jumped the dead car and gave Sharon a ride home.
Intellectual ability is one thing. ?ÿBeing exposed to real world problems is quite another. ?ÿExperience is a great teacher.
Thirty years ago while serving on the board of directors for a special education cooperative we needed to quickly terminate a teacher. ?ÿHis certification was in teaching gifted students. ?ÿHis number one reason for why we couldn't fire him was that he had a 140 IQ. ?ÿI told him I wasn't impressed as there were at least two with higher numbers sitting around our breakfast table every morning.
