Just stop and think. This upcoming class of high school seniors (class of 2018) will be the LAST senior class born in the 20th Century.

You just love to make us "old fart, get off my lawn" surveyors feel good, dont you? ;);)
From "TIME", Pink Floyd
[Verse 2: David Gilmour & Richard Wright]
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over
Thought I'd something more to say
😎
??How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon??

I find it ironic that the members of Pink Floyd were in their late '20s when that was written.
When I was young I knew a fellow quite well who was born in 1872. Probably knew some others older than that. Kids today can't name anyone they know born prior to 1972 other than their grandparents.
My grandfather was born in 1869. He had an interesting worldview.

All but one of my grandparents were born in the 19th. century. My mother's father was born in 1875. Being the youngest child of the youngest child of the youngest child I've had a string of folks from those times that all gave me correction during my younger years. I don't guess I ever thought about it much until I started getting gray.
"Where you're from" really does say a lot about "who ya are".

Indeed. I've been listening to that album since I was about 14. We played it a lot when overlanding in Africa when I was about 21 - called it the "Morning Tape" (at the time when tapes were the go). And every time I hear a track it reminds me of various chapters in my life over the last 30 years. Here's Claire Torry's interview on her contribution:
