But I really hate spraying cr*p on my skin and clothes. And after the recent rains in Central Texas, I am anticipating the resulting swarm.
I found the first link on Google news:

Kite Crowd Fund
Sounded good enough for me, I'm in, at a level where I can receive a few of the "kites" for testing on myself.
I'm not fond of them myself. I have seen this available and have wondered if it works...
I clicked on the Shoo Tag site and saw comments that went back to 2009.
I have to be sceptical. IF this really worked, you'd think those that discovered it would tell everyone they know, who would tell everyone THEY know, and so on - who would not like a foolproof, chemical free way to keep mosquitos away?
I hope I'm wrong -
but, what is the old adage: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!"

My BS alarm went off with this statement
"uses electromagnetic frequencies to create a protective barrier from pests. ... acheives a full barrier within 24-36 hours after the tag is attached"
If it's electromagnetic, it should have a power source and be instantaneous.
You'd just love Alaska then. Skeeters so thick in places a month back you could kill dozens with a single slap. Once tried an electronic mosquito repeller that emitted a high frequency tone that was suppose to drive the buggers away. Didn't work at all but sure annoyed the heck out of any dog within earshot.

there are lots of fun for camping. With all the wet weather, we've used on our adirondacks trip. Just two AA batteries and they will zap bugs for a couple weeks.

My wife bought one of the cheap Chinese tennis racket zappers. My son was showing it off, and asked me if I thought it'd hurt to touch it. I said no, it can't give a very strong jolt, so I told him to activate it (hold down the button) and then I touched it with my index finger. I was wrong. Very wrong.

Jim,
I'm sorry, but that is pretty funny. I say that because my brother did the same thing last year when we were all camping. We were in my camper, and my two girls, and his son and daughter were in there, and he was killing flies with it.
His son asked if it would hurt, and he said no, and touched his finger to it. He yelled, and said it hurts, it hurts. The funniest thing was the way his son started laughing.
I hope you recovered quickly.
