Not a surveyor but a good man and a great ballplayer.?ÿ He was a gentleman which is so much different from a LOT of athletes today.?ÿ We were flying out of the Atlanta airport one time and he got on the train with us.?ÿ When my daughter saw who it was she wanted to go get his autograph.?ÿ I told her to let the man relax and enjoy his ride.?ÿ He looked at me, smiled and nodded thanks.
Go with God Hank.

To me, Hammerin' Hank is and always will be the true home run king.
It has been a tough week in Wisconsin with sports deaths. Don Sutton (Brewers), Ted Thompson (Packers GM) and Hank Aaron (Milwaukee Braves/Brewers).
The home run record was the most revered records in sports.?ÿ McGuire, Sosa and Bonds took all that away. Aaron did it without juiced baseballs or juiced muscles. The fly balls that end up in the bleachers now would have gone 300 ft if that in Aarons era.?ÿ
My (future) wife was in nursing school at Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta the night that Aaron hit number 715.?ÿ Her room was on the 10th floor and you could see Atlanta Stadium from her window.?ÿ That night she was studying with the window open and could hear the roar go up from the stadium when he hit the homerun.
As an aside, the roof of the dorm was used by the nursing students as a place to lay in the sun and tan.?ÿ You can imagine the number of traffic and other helicopters that just had to hover over the area when a bunch of 18 to 21 year old young ladies, wearing as little as possible, were on that roof.
