Someone has to know how to resolve this. MS "Help" doesn't help - an oxymoron if there ever was one.
I'm using XP with Word 2003.
I sent a draft of a Word document out to my HOA Board for review and edits. One of the replies came back with the MS "Track Changes" feature. Ever since then, EVERY document I open or create prints a second page with a half page list of metadata: filename, directory, template, title, subject, and so on.
The metadata is not visible on the screen, but it prints whether it is paper or a PDF. I cannot figure out how to turn this off.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks for trying, but that did not do it.
Went out to mow the lawn and came up with the idea of restoring defaults under the "Help" menue. That did not work either.
Any other ideas out there?

Your starting default template file probably got changed. I forget the name or extensiion of the file(maybe a default.tmp), but use MS Help and find the name for default template. Find the file (usually in your installation folder) delete it, and load a document without the format you are dislikeing, Word may request you to save as template, say yes and you should be there. At least thats how my memory says I fixed some similar problem before.
Or go the bull moose method and uninstall MS word and reinstall it
Ken;
Look at the bottom right hand corner of the document and see if TRK is enabled, this allows MS Word to track changes to documents that have been collaborated on electronically if TRK is enabled then go to Options and uncheck track changes then save to your default template.
Hope this helps.

Belay my last (ignore my last post) this is what you need to do: Clear the "Make hidden markup visible when opening or saving" check box on the Security tab of the Options dialog box (Tools menu).

Northern and Randy - thanks, but it didn't work.
Not looking forward to reloading the software; any other ideas?

When you go to print (File-Print) (not ctrl+p for quick print) and the printer dialogue comes up, go to "Options" button there. Word adds a whole nother set of things to print - or not. There should be something about the document properties - uncheck it.
Hope that does it.

The "Normal.doc" is the default template file. The checking of the box modifies that file (in this case to turn off printing the document properties), but their can be other "queer" formatting things that show up in your MSword that you cannot get rid of. Knowing where to kill Normal.doc, is a lifesaver.
A memoric: Why be normal dot doc?
