Apparently Charlie Manson got the last laugh and outlived the D.A., Vince Bugliosi, responsible for Manson's prosecution and conviction of the infamous LaBianca and Tate murders of 1969.
Although I personally feel that Charlie Manson is truly a homicidal maniac; I never could understand why Bugliosi never tried to visit him in prison or strike up some dialog. I'm sure it was because, self admittedly, Bugliosi was scared to death of Manson. Bugliosi spent the rest of his life with personal security protection.
I was going to say that in their after-life the men will be in different places...but Vince WAS an attorney. Who knows, they might meet again someday....:pinch:
Lots of memories from this one... I always thought Bugliosi had better things to do - he wasn't a psychologist.
Helter Skelter
I saw Bugliosi when I was at the Univ of Ala back in 1981 or so. At that point he had moved on to the JFK assassination conspiracy.
He was a compelling speaker, but the audience all wanted to know more about Manson.

Never heard a Manson laugh that sounded anything except that of an insane maniac.
It took me less than 5min to turn off the recent new miniseries Aquarius.
The madness of his life is something to remember for sake of being aware of what human beings can become when left to act out their insanity without any restraints.
I could be entirely satisfied to never hear his name again and to definitely never hear or read what he has to say.

I definitely agree. There are some incarcerated criminals that could be the poster child for the death sentence, and Manson is one of them. His "escape" from his execution is a story in itself.
I read Bugliosi's book when it first hit the stands out of young, morbid curiosity and have never watched any sort of tv or film production of the event since. I won't start now, either.
