I was thinking the same thing. It looks like the Starnet questions perked his interest. He is definitely capable in using that software. I sure hope he sticks around.

Aloha, Jimmy: I hope so too. I actually purchased Star*Net after selling my TPC. Kent, Norman OK. and Dave Karoly had huge impact on my decision to do so!

I sure hope Kent will hang out here...like he use to!

My guess is that he got an email alert about the old Star*Net thread and replied. Whether he decides to hang out here is another matter entirely.

Discussing rebar. It took that to bring him out of retirement.

He is a surveyor with an opinion. What good is a surveyor without an opinion?

Let's not discuss Kent in the third person, please.

Mr. McMillan was heartened to see that the forum software now accomodates threads in a way that makes it clear who is replying to whom. I'm reliably informed that he continues to find the basic layout suboptimal for quickly determining what might be interesting. The burden that it places upon posters is to condense the entire interest of a post into its title, which seems somewhat unrealistic as a goal.

I also miss some elements of the old board. But this one is the one we have and it is still miles better than RPLS. I hope you will continue to work with it. It's better with you participating.

subåáopåátiåámal: adjective; of less than the highest standard or quality.

By golly that definition certainly contributes to the success of the whole bunch of us now, doesn't it?

Because one cannot change the title line, a thread cannot be hijacked.

In my opinion though especially on questions no one title can cover all the nuances of the good answers, so interest cannot be kept up.

I find myself less interested in participating.

But yeh, it beats the alternative.

Threads can still be hijacked in this format, it just requires reading the thread to follow. For me the thing that forums need to be enjoyable is the right amount of participation, too much and everything gets lost, too little and the forum becomes like five folks saying hi to each other.
