Something I don't get about baseball: why can't the defense intercept the ball and run it home for a score?

It seems like that would make the game a lot more exciting.

Meh...cricket is the surveyors game

In the game of cricket, the cricket pitch consists of the central strip of the cricket field between the wickets — 1 chain or 22 yards (20.12 m) long

Well, I gotta go with you on this one. Not only have I always liked KC teams, but talk about some lights out pitching and clutch hitting. And against some pretty good teams, with all due respect to them.

Helps that SWMBO is basically from KC (Omaha actually) and was there for the I - 70 World Series in '85, she is as geeked as they get. So that's a good thing.

Go Royals tonight!!! But this afternoon, it's still Go Spartans!!

It probably has something to do with the fact that the defense always has the ball.

Yea it did!! I think the Royals secretly wanted to lose one, so they could go and win it all at home. B-)

Welp.... I'm on the sidelines now too.... down to two outta three... Royals now have home field advantage but tonight face Bumgarner who is a Royals killer for sure. Just glad to see our guys get into a World Series and actually show up. I have "dual citizenship" having been born in Michigan and a Tigers fan into the seventies and it was not pretty to see my other team get swept a coupla years back by these same Giants.

I'm not a baseball fan but the Giants are in the World Series. I missed game 1 but watched games 2, 3 & 4.

I notice they have this funny looking guy who plays like a madman, even when they are way behind. I've never heard of him before.

Hunter Pence sure is earning his salary although I read he has a ninety million dollar contract, okay I don't think he's earning all of it.

I'll say!! "Ace" Ventura is on his mark!! He said he was playing tonight for his buddy Oscar, and for this Cardinals fan, that means I'm rooting for the Royals. (Plus I have a "thing" for Missouri as you all know. )

Put me in that book girl!!!! Go Royals!!

I'm still curious how a girl from no where around Missouri has a "thing" for the Cards. I was born down in Cards country so I can understand me - plus Grandpa had them on the radio while we fished.
My two favorite Cards players: Lou Brock (#1) and Ozzie Smith (a super close #2).

? Updates: 10-27-2014 ?

Easy there Sparky. I think I called Royals in a squeaker 4 (maybe 5).
Then again I'm probably wrong. Thus why I never play lottery stuff of any sort.

You picked them to win in 5 games with 4 runs. I meant no one had picked them to win in 7 games with 7 runs. I'm liking this 7-7-7 thing. B-)

PS: I moved this over to the chatter thread. Sorry if I confused ya (again). :-/
