First trip to Hooters....
I only went in to a Hooters once, 15-ish years ago. Lunchtime, middle of the work week. Found out the bar only served beer, and the food menu was only appetizers. The wait staff working that day were not likely to ever be featured in their calendar. Three strikes, haven't been back since.
Last Hooters I went to in 2012 was in another state working out of town for my last employer (100% solo since). ?ÿThey used my text photos posing with a tripod and level with some of the gals as an excuse to turn me loose. ?ÿI am not a corporate guy.
Used to be a little diner named the Britton Cafe that was only about a mile from our office.?ÿ They had a good bowl of chili and a great $1.99 chicken-fried steak special. This was pre-Hooters, but it was in the Daisy Duke days.?ÿ All the waitresses dressed like Daisy Duke with cut-offs and gingham-checked blouses that were noticeably too small.?ÿ The field crews frequented there a lot.
One of our hands wife worked there.?ÿ It was really hard to have him sit a table and watch everybody else looking at all the pretty girls.?ÿ His wife eventually forbid him to come in there while she was at work.?ÿ As a show of support for him we all stopped having lunch there.
I was really glad when he finally moved on and we could return to our favorite lunch spot.?ÿ ;)?ÿ?ÿ
In the early 1970's when the gas station would fill your tank, check your oil and wash your window there were a couple of competing stations in our college town that had pretty young co-eds in bikinis handling that job.?ÿ My wife didn't think I should buy my gas there.?ÿ But, I did, from time to time when she wasn't along.
I used to frequent Hooters in Austin as well as other cities I went to. It was a "thing". Some good times, some bad (of course) but haven't been back in years. The one in Austin closed some years ago.
There was a place in Austin where they cut your hair while wearing lingerie and served you beer. I checked it out....once. The beer was in a small dixie cup, the "stylist" was pushing 60 and covered in hair from previous customers.?ÿ
I will say, she made quite the investment on the upstairs remodel but I was done when her "assets" were covered with hair that wasn't mine. Blech!!
Why y'all getten' all worked up? Any father or grandfather should have recognized the baby was simply waving bye-bye. ???? ?ÿ
