Damn, not on for a day or so and all hell breaks loose

I think TDD's avatar blew up and left a real mess or something. Too many steroids and not enough water can do that to a person I've heard. I didn't see it but he must have gone well over the top. Surprising? Well no.. We all know TDD.

Dave..Not sure on that one. Seemed pretty innocent on the part of BL in how they treated an 'early request' on the board that did not get implemented.

This board is not much different the Mark Deals board. Same, same still happens at times.

I thought of TDD's avatar as some kind of insect with a very small human head Photoshopped in. It reminded me of "The Fly".

Yeah you are right with respect to all of your analogies. I just tend to go with the high road and simply skip things I find uninteresting or controversial. I subscribe to the thought “if you can’t say something nice, then keep your mouth shut”

Well, TDD got a little bit out of hand.

When one starts discussing waiting in line to pee on the current presidents grave, killing the president, killing everyone in the White House, killing GWB and Dick Cheney, annihilating the entire country of Israel, killing Muslims, calling users that don't agree with him derogatory names, etc...etc... meant action needed to be taken.

This type of talk is NOT allowed here. It is one thing to discuss politics and agree and disagree, bicker a little, etc... but when people start threatening others because that person does not agree with the other persons viewpoint is when it is OUT of hand. Then throw in the "killing" posts and we have an even bigger threat that, we feel, did not belong on our forum.

Hence the ban. That makes three people banned now for threatening to "kill" us or someone else in email and on the forum.

Come on...is it that bad that one has to threaten to kill someone to get their point across just because someone else didn't agree with it in the first place? Ridiculous!! Grow the hell up and act like an adult, not your shoe size, and stop being a bully. Bullies can find another forum to make their death threats on. :-@

Now back to our regular program. :good:

No problems here with what happened.

I have been guilty of several posts and/or responses on the old board.

I would wake up the next morning and could not believe what my fingers had typed.

I am a recovering stupid poster and am man enough to admit it.

This is a good place for a lot of good, hard working surveyors to chat a bit, the last thing needed is the garbage spilling over from the other board.

Everyone makes mistakes, but there is nothing wrong with culling out few idiots.

He did that on the old board once or twice, or was it four or five times..I lost track really, never did pay that much attention to what he wrote.

That's one post I am glad I missed.

Those bans were not seen on here. They were the "I'm gonna kill you if I ever see you" threats made to us in emails. We nipped them in the bud before those people went and did it on the forum. There's no need for that, here there or anywhere.

Ted has spewed hate since he first starded with rpls.com. He was just as hateful toward Bush, as well as being extremely racist and subscribes to every conspiracy theory out there. He was banned more than once from the old site and figured out how to come back under new pseudonyms (geez brgr and PITA TOPOB). Yes he was colorful, but as far as I am concerned, I don't need his childish rants.

You were right letting him in to this site, and you were right banning him when he proved he couldn't act civily here.

Actually, TDD wasn't a bad poster prior to 9/11. He seemed pretty normal and just talked surveying. He went nuts on the RPLS board that day and hasn't turned back. Was it 9/11 that set him off again?
