Seems like the last I saw of him was before Harvey- Now I don't even see him listed as a member.
He made a post that he said would probably end up being his last. Then he disappeared.
Hmmm- must have missed it- that's a shame.
He seemed increasingly agitated, and discontent, over the past year.
Maybe he needs a time or break from this public forum.

I cannot say that Robert leaving is related to that thread, Mark. It appears that he deleted his account. At least his name has been replaced with "guestxxx" in a couple of his posts that I checked.
If, in fact Robert decided to leave I will miss him, esp. his wit and humor.
What may have been the final post was 100 percent political.
I missed it too and Robert and I have met and do correspond occasionally

I really didn't think it was all that explosive. Just more of the usual "oh yeah, sez who?" stuff. I kind of quit reading it after a while and was surprised that a few members got whacked over it. Maybe it devolved after I read it last.
I hated to see folks get banned, especially our Austin, TX forensics expert. I was using his posts as examples for my pre-teens' Sunday School class for a series called "How to win friends and influence people on the internet".
It does bother me a bit that Robert seems to have checked out. I hope he checks in sometime.

I believe Wendell said he had to ban a few of the guys from that thread until October first. McMillan, Karoly and a guy named Scott Ellis (who like to say "easy peasy" a lot about PLSSia). I don't know if there were others banned.

I can only imagine how indignant Kent might get for getting called out. Emphasis on the word might. He might just think it's funny. I haven't talked with him about it, he might just be taking this opportunity to argue more with his wife. 😉
Robert Hill is one of my favorite posters on here and I hope he returns. I'm inclined to think he might have been turned off by the toxic discourse some threads have devolved into and maybe he felt it was something he would be better off without.
