Just thinking about how many times I've been close to fun places but never quite made it. Keep in mind, I'm from Mississippi.

1. I've been to New York, never been to New York City.

2. I've been to Miami, never been to Miami Beach.

3. I've been to South Dakota, never been to the Black Hills.

4. I once took a trip to Colorado, didn't go to the mountains.

5. I'm from the Memphis area, have been to Graceland, but it was so long ago I don't remember it.

There's probably more, but that's what comes to mind.

Oh well, just rambling on a Thursday evening.

That reminded me of a business trip to D.C. in about 1977. Landed at what was then National Airport, avoided the Hare Krishnas, hopped in the hotel limo, rode to the hotel you could see from the airport (in Virginia, of course), went in, hit the elevator button to something like the sixth floor, went to the room where our committee was meeting for about four or five hours, hit the elevator button to get to the lobby, went out, hopped in the hotel limo, rode to the airport, avoided the Hare Krishnas again, flew back towards Chicago.

I've been to Amsterdam 12 times, and never left the airport...

There is nice Irish Pub on the E Concourse though (at least I think it was 'E')

One of these days I'm going schedule a longer layover.

:-/

Charles it sounds like you have some delta blues. You need to go to the Sunflower Blues Fest in Clarksdale and have some fun.
This is for you

The Geospatial Blues

"I've been to New York, never seen no Big Apple there..
I've been to Miami, never saw no waves upon the shore..
I've got the geospatial blues
Everywhere I go I lose
Lost with the geospatial blues
And it makes me confused
I've been to up to South Dakota, but didn't see any Harleys on the Black Hills byways
I once took a trip to Colorado looked at the sky
but didn't get a Rocky Mountain high.
I've got the geospatial blues
Everywhere I go I lose
Lost with the geospatial blues
And it makes me confused

I'm from the Memphis town and have been to Graceland,
but it was so long ago I don't remember.
Elvis left the building before I got there
He must have had the geospatial blues too and he didn't care"
