I drove to Tacoma and back on Saturday-
I noticed the seatbelt signs when you enter the state and along the way-

They Read

CLICK IT OR TICKET
Seat belts Required

then there is an additional placard attached

"Day and Night"

can someone elaborate on why the placard was/is necessary?

Yes, and it's another way to waste money, something the government here is good at.:-(

WSDOT probably had those "day and night" signs left over from a twisty section of road where headlights were required "day and night" for safety. Sometime we see those in consturction zones also.

If you think about it that is really funny.

What's next-under all the STOP signs "day and night"?

In reality, I think it is more of a fair warning that you could be pulled over, any time, so you better not be drinking and driving.

A seat belt law is a seat belt law, it doesn't matter what time of day it is, you'd have to be pretty dense not to know that.......
