Congrats to Stoops and the Sooner Team. Nice win, but Saban and The Tide are still a class act in my book. Somebody had to win, somebody had to lose.

That was a great game indeed. Glad I didn't "have a dog in the fight" so I could just sit back and enjoy. Too darn bad they couldn't have scheduled tonight's games at staggered timeslots. Oh well I will just jump back and forth, I guess. Somehow, I can't get myself to watch one and record one. Probably because all the real time score updates spoil it for you.

Yup, I expected Texas to go bigger and get a proven headcoach. Strong was the former DC at UF so we know all about him. He's a great defensive coach, and has done very well at Louisville. Some people believe his success at Louisville is due to playing in the weak Big East and having a superstar QB in Teddy Bridgewater. Should be fun to see what he does at Texas.

If that's true, they've got a good coach. He's apparently a dynamite 'nuts & bolts' kind of coach that likes to win. Some reports told of surprise that Texas didn't pick up a "pretty-boy-PR-and-business-savvy-kind-of-coach". I say if you want Donald Trump, hire him. If you want a good football coach, I think you've got one with Strong.
The 2014 "Red River Rivalry" should be interesting this year. Pay attention Stoops, they will be sneakin' up behind you. 😉

Now they are saying that Strong is not a done deal, Strong apparently did not sign the contract and went back to Louisville to "talk" ... probably means that he'd rather stay at Louisville if they will up his salary. I won't blame him, either. The guys is a well loved hero in Louisville, and UT is a pressure cooker and he's going to be viewed as a guy with something to prove.
