on another BB I read recently of the filing of a Record of Survey was being held up because the checker did not like using the historic street names (on the referenced Plat) and wanted it "fixed".
Could be a silly simple non-surveying thing. Need to ask the checker what he perceives as broken.
If a municipality hired this company to review Plats, then I assume that a review by a PLS would be the standard. I would send him back an email that says "Please have the Professional Surveyor that reviewed this plat call to discuss the issues". Take it out of the Planner 3 hands.
I have had City people review my descriptions and tell me they are wrong. I reply with a statement similar to the one above.?ÿ

But commenting on a survey is not in direct violation of the law posted above.
Any reviewer who is not a licensee should be ignored and it does not matter who is his/her employer.
ONLY a licensee is qualified to comment on the correctness of a survey. HOWEVER, anyone can point out that some line in some regulation does not appear to have been addressed. Your final product should comply with said regulation, but that IS NOT a matter of correctness of the survey itself.
