No wonder y'all are having problems with finding work! Is the population growth that noticeable for any of you long timers?
I'm sure that since MA his going to lose a seat in the House, and Texas is going to gain 4 we can loan you a few MA democrats!
Fort Worth had a lot of growth over the last ten years with many new acres of farmland converted to suburban sprawl. I did a lot of infill projects in Dallas when we were doing townhomes and I know there were lots of new developments north of Plano in the areas of Frisco, McKinney, etc... But, not so much after the real estate crash.
Most of that growth was in the first 7-8 years of the decade. And for what it's worth, with a minor geographical adjustment, I am staying plenty busy. I'm sure some would suggest it is all mobile homes and desert land, but that's not the case.

I do not think that is much of a problem. Lots of out of state license plates for sure though. I can probably count about half of the continental 48 in the parking lot of our office right now.

Can be a problem and can have an effect on farming, ranching, oil production and many other bossiness because those coming in to the population centers without the independent attitudes of the natives vote liberal. What it does, is just like what has happened here and in California, the population centers control the vote and tend to restrict the interests of the rural areas that feed them, they vote for laws that might be justified in the population centers but have no place in rural areas. Area wise about 5% of the total area and the people in that area of the state control the rest with totally different views and needs they seldom look at the rights and needs of others and if they do, they don't care.

You guys really need to cut back on your calorie intake.
Mt little bitty town has not grown at all, as a matter of fact we went down one notch to class 1A in high school sports.
25 miles and beyond, north and northwest of me along the Highland Lakes has been growing for years, but has not offered much work for any profession for a couple of years now.
That area used to be my bread and butter, but not much going on right now.
I might have agreed with a 20% growth rate 5 years ago, but nothing close to that right now.
Happy Holidays everyone,
Randy
