isnt that added to the local/county sales tax as well..so your effective rate is closer to 14-18%?
I see things have not changed a lot since I last posted here a couple of years ago......tho a couple of years ago the numbers in that email would have been $150-250, so I'm liking the new "low ball" price a lot better!
> Part of the problem is boundary surveying is stuck in the 19th century, it has an ad hoc nature about it.
Well, maybe our 19th century, but not everybody's. The initial Florentine census and property survey to create the Florentine Cadasto began in 1427.
It's not that we couldn't develop a stable cadastre, it's just goes against the grain of our culture.
Over 150 years ago de Tocqueville observed that Americans "are always dissatisfied with the position which they occupy, and are always free to leave it, they think of nothing but the means of changing their fortune, or of increasing it.” Permanence and stability are an anathema to independence.
Given the choice between a stable cadastre or a society where when a neighbor brings suit against a neighbor over one foot in the location of a common line the complainant is tarred, feathered, and ostracized from the community, I'd take the latter. But I'm not hold my breath for either outcome.
LOL ... No. The State Sales tax is 6%. All the counties in this area add 1% as a local sales tax, so it's 7%. Some rural counties don't add the 1%, so it's 6% in many places.
well, that makes florida more attractive, I also see that they have a 5.5% corporate tax..I didnt think they had that either.
Ignore that sh%^$#%#$
I have this quote on my wall:
"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional, wait until you hire an amateur".
sums it up pretty well.
