Hello, Looking for feedback and opinions on business Grand Opening/Re-Openings. Are they worth it and can you make solid connections?

We have a small surveying firm in a small town and have been in business for 4yrs. Started at home and 18mo ago moved into a couple offices in a local business office center. We have a total of 4 employees and we just signed a lease for a dedicated office location.?ÿ

We have done really well, building up the biz over the last few years. We even did well during the thick of covid. We have good contacts, returning real estate agents and builders, but our sphere of business is a 30-75mi radius around our business location.?ÿMostly property divisions and residential real estate, which has slowed down significantly.?ÿ

We would like to grow and gain some commercial contracts, hire another licensed field technician and or drafter.?ÿ

I am wondering if having an official Grand Opening, or Re-Grand Opening would be beneficial and conducive to growth and extending our reach further outside of our local service area. Is it worth it or a big waste of money? I am sure it also depends on who is invited and marketing followup?

We have never done anything like this. Feedback appreciated! Thanks for reading this!

I have been involved in two office relocations due to growth and we are currently building a new building to move again in a year or so.  I have found that an open house after things are settled is always a good idea.  Invite off of your current clients for a tour and a bite to eat and ask them to bring other business associates with them.  Also invite as many real estate agents and construction companies from your surrounding area as possible.  I am not sure that it's a great marketing tool but can give you some added exposure.

Food good food can go a long way.  Doesn’t have to be fancy but delicious and variety as some might not like BBQ so think in terms of meat lovers and vegetarians another is food allergies now days gluten peanuts etc.  that could show some existing and potential clients you were thinking ahead and care. Might be just enough to get that next opportunity. Possibly a good mix of music from a dj or local band.  What part of the country are you in.
