Shutting it down for 2019 so I can get after remodeling this rental property for the next week.

Anyways- in response to the email I just got after two weeks of holding this out-of-townerƒ??s hand through local permitting requirements...

ƒ?Thanks for the feedback. Iƒ??m going to bow out at this point. The proposal I sent was based upon my estimated time required, that itself based upon my experience doing hundreds of similar surveys over the past two decades.

?ÿ
I appreciate your position in this, however if your client/boss/colleague is confident he can get a survey that encapsulates all the details I enumerated in my proposal for half that fee then Iƒ??d say good luck and go get it. But Iƒ??m not in the business of negotiating my professional fees, any more than I would expect an attorney, accountant, or doctor to do so, even if I were to presume to possess some knowledge of what their fees ƒ??shouldƒ? be.
?ÿ
Thank you, and happy new year. And please donƒ??t hesitate to be back in touch if thereƒ??s anything I can help with in the future.ƒ?

Hopefully the low bidder does not brag about snaking a client.?ÿ We are all worth more than we charge.

I think some of the more lucrative jobs are the ones you don't take.

Or the ones you don't even look at cause your spidey sense tells you to run away.?ÿ

I don't give it that much effort...

"Thank you for your inquiry" is enough

sure, except for the part about my first paragraph.?ÿ part of what i offer as a professional is my personal experience dealing with the exactly what this client's needs are in this city, for his/her stated ends, and based upon a conversation flushing all that out.

so, as i mentioned, i've already been engaged- gratis- for a couple hours of doing some minor digging and phone calls.?ÿ his client now knows exactly what he needs (which he didn't before), free of charge.?ÿ?ÿ

somebody may do a survey for half.?ÿ beats me.?ÿ don't care.?ÿ but the guy was just doing his job and i wanted to make sure he knew why i said "no thanks."?ÿ maybe when he has more latitude from his clients he'll be more thoughtful next time.?ÿ maybe not.
