When are your invoices due? I used to do 30 days. Then went to 15 days. Thinking of going to "Due upon receipt". People just seem to drag payments out anymore. I due mostly small residential and rural work.?ÿ

Due prior to handing over the map for residential and rural boundary surveys. For larger projects where municipalities and engineering companies are the clients it is kind of up to them. Usually 30 to 60 days.

For newbies, 60% minimum deposit and remainder due before release. Most will go ahead and pay the total.

My terms are $100 cancellation fee if job is canceled after it's on schedule.?ÿ Non-refundable once any work is done.

My regular clients are invoiced and normally pay within 15-30 days.

Unless it is a commercial client where payments are done on some end of month billingpayment cycle, EVERYTHING is paid in full before I release my survey.

And concerning the commercial clients I work out the payment terms in advance and put that in my contract. I do not trust people to honor their debts after they have the product of my work and have driven off into the sunset.

Individuals that ordered a survey got estate divisions pay me when zI have completed the boundary and when they have decided on their agreed division boundaries, I set monuments and mark them ad directed and get paid for that upon delivery of drawings and property descriptions

The same for clients wanting monuments found and twist or other materials set on boundaries

Will agree to be paid at closing for clients that are buying and selling?ÿ

Any construction is billed weekly an will come back after I have money in hand?ÿ

I worked for a guy that offered a 5% "discount" for payment in full at start of work, and another that required 50% percent to start and the remainder to release the product, plus recording fees to release if it was going to be recorded.

The guy that got the 100% before releasing the product was the better business person, the former just got a good heads up on who was going to stiff him with the discount gimmick.
