Laying out some new housing units today, I got chatting to one of the neighbours.
Interested in what I was doing, it turns out both his Father and his Grandfather were surveyors deep in the middle of our North Island.
Amongst the family momentos he showed me were some drawing instruments, including an ivory handled double nibbed dip pen for doing parallel lines.
There were also a couple of sketches his Grandad had drawn on the back of a couple of envelopes.
He has sent me copies, and would be pleased for them to be shared around...
