Why bother saying "up to 3 nights" a week and then say "or more"? Why not just say, "The successful applicant will be living out of a suitcase."

Because that sounds better. HR departments that write that stuff are almost as creative as real estate ads, you know fixer upper sounds better than a dump, and cozy sounds better than your dog house might be bigger and so on.

abw-- This is for a Field Survey Tech the other position was for a Survey Scientist which we filled with an internal candidate.

Tommy -- salary range we'd prefer to discuss directly with the candidates....but the low end is around $46k.

Jim & Shelby-- I wrote that. I'm trying to set realistic expectations. We do a lot of traveling. We have different positions some of which require almost constant travel and others that require less trael. But if I tell you on the front end that this position is going to require a lot of travel then you know going in to the job what is expected of you. We work 4 10 hr days so it does help to be back home for a 3 day weekend.

Thanks for the comments.
