I am wondering what pay range would a party chief expect to find in the Phoenix,Tucson area. Someone with 25+years experience, licensed but not in AZ.
"Party Chief" means so many things to so many people. Time in service really means very little. Tell us more about your abilities. And why aren't you licensed in AZ if you are working in AZ? I've heard that they are quite accommodating.
This site might be of help...
I was looking for a general "chart of accounts" for bookeeping to add a category to my accounting software and just now came across this site. It seems to generally fit for my area, but I am sure they depermine the numbers by questions and responses.
By clicking on the green bar search area, you can narrow your search specifics, such as:Survey Party Chief Phoenix, AZ
Be sure to search under "Surveyor" and Land Surveyor" since they have multiple categories.
Of course, ymmv (your mileage may vary).
Two problems with that Richard:
1) Chicago
2) UNIONs
I won't say more because it will get seriously political.
Thanks. So far I have a response from OK, TX, someone telling me what union guys in Illinois make and a link to a website.
How about someone who lives and works in
AZ and can simply provide the info.
I already have 4 licenses, not interested in any more. More than happy just working in the field.
Our party chief makes $31/hour. He is not registered, but has almost 40 years in the field and I would put him up against anyone in Arizona.
The problem in Tucson is the still-lousy economy. We had to close our company of 23 years last August (we were bought out by our best engineering client, who wanted to start a survey department).
Things are tough, but the rumor is that things are getting slightly better.
I wish you well...
Craigslist
That should give an idea. $23 and hour for what I would call PC type duties. $50 a day per diem seems low if you have to live away, but gravy if you are in Tuscon anyway.
Big E
$9.89/hour for pension must upset you also?

I, like a lot of others, have refrained from replying to your posts because, like Eric, I feel it would be too political, and I am respecting Wendell's wishes to keep SurveyorConnect politics free.
To be clear, there is nothing wrong with your just posting the Union wage rates, but I do not think I can comment.
In fact, I wish Eric had not posted what he did (in this particular case only).

The bigger question is why haven't our open shop rates, wages, and benefits
kept up with inflation?
