I head up the Land Survey group at my company George Butler Associates in Lenexa, KS just SW of KC and I'm having trouble filling this position so i thought I would try on here. I would like to employ a person interested in land surveying and has a good grasp of Microstation and Geopak. Let me know if you know of any one with these qualifications.

Survey CAD Technician
GBA is a multi-disciplined professional design firm providing engineering and architectural services to clients in the public and private sectors. GBAÛªs Survey Group is currently seeking an experienced survey technician to help produce various land survey deliverables utilizing CAD software. The type of surveys we produce range from DOT and Municipality corridor design base maps, topography for storm and sanitary design, energy corridor surveys, easement surveys for all types of design projects, boundary, ALTA/NSPS Surveys and UAV surveys. We offer a variety of work and learning experiences from project to project. The Survey/CAD Technician position will primarily be managing the detailed drafting of CAD drawings and preparation of land survey documents.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D on engineering design, topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, and easement surveys.
- Work closely with survey crew members and office staff to draft survey data
- Work with group managers to meet schedule deadlines
- Manipulate Point Cloud data for the extraction of survey features used in drafting
- Existing surface creation in CAD to depict an accurate representation of field conditions
Requirements
- Communicate with internal staff effectively to gather all information needed for the drafting of survey related data
- Interpret record documents and accurately represent them in a CAD environment
- Proficiency in MicroStation and Geopak
- AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency a plus
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to work with little supervision
- Detail-oriented
- Experience in drafting of exhibits and the preparation of legal descriptions
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Must have experience in drafting of topographic surveys for design
- Field experience a plus
- Ability to work with Point Cloud data from all types of platforms
