Moon rise one evening...
?ÿ
Sunrise a few days later...
?ÿ
not recent... but just before sunrise August 2003 over the Columbia River at Pateros?ÿ
another eastern Washington blast from my past, over the Columbia River and the town of Bridgeport 2003?ÿ
You know.....this is how secrets about great places to live and work create a land rush of people.....
SHHHHHHHHHH!
?ÿ
Don't ruin such an amazing place...

Me and SWMBO were fortunate enough to travel the Colombia River via?ÿ the Queen of the West paddle wheeler. Portland to Lewiston and Clarkson and back. Scenery was breathtaking the entire trip. ?????ÿ
Here is a view from a bit west above Stevens or White Salmon (can't remember which) taken back around 2006.
Here is another from the same general area just down by the river in Home Valley.?ÿ Amtrak had a bit of a problem.?ÿ Amazingly no one was seriously injured.?ÿ I think a broken arm was the worst.
?ÿ
This is just across the river from Tim at Blalock Canyon.?ÿ The phot was taken last week (I just finished the project last night).?ÿ While it was sunny overhead, the sun never touches the ground this time of year.?ÿ The lack of sun and constant noise of 70 mph freight trains make Tim's jobsite much more pleasant.
The Pacific Northwest has a beautiful AND diverse landscape; you can go from a temperate rain forest to a true desert to an ancient glacier, in a matter of hours.
But you're right; don't tell anyone!
I come cross the River there, then another 35 miles upriver, then uphill 1600 feet.
Nice, I didn't mean to hijack your original post, but the east of the Washington Cascades pics just reminded me how much I liked working over there just before I got licensed,?ÿ my current, pandemic -home office is a little less scenic?ÿ
