Three past clients made big news in the newspapers this week for very different reasons.?ÿ The first two were featured as examples of local boys done good.?ÿ The feature dealt with local business leaders and both happened to be your average Joe.?ÿ One spent one year in community college, started on the production line and is now the plant manager over several hundred employees.?ÿ The other received his certificate in electrical power transmission and has gone on to oversee construction projects up to $30 million in size for a hospital.?ÿ
The third former client did not fair so well.?ÿ Someone is after him for nearly $3 million of assets that have disappeared.?ÿ Whomever this is has paid for nearly full page advertisements in several newspapers offering up to $10,000 for information that will lead to recovery of said assets.?ÿ This isn't the first time his name has been in the newspaper for bad reasons.?ÿ A few years ago he was cited for rape but I never heard how that turned out for him.?ÿ He did not go to jail to the best of my knowledge.?ÿ His grandfather probably paid to make it all go away.?ÿ You can do that when you own over 5000 acres of land plus all the cattle and equipment involved to operate such a spread and have no debt.
The third former client did not fair so well.?ÿ?ÿ

I wouldn't bother to correct most people, but you're Chief of Spelling Police.
I ran into a survey the other day and recognized the surveyor's very unique last name.?ÿ It was the last name of a fellow survey that sat at my table when we took the exam.?ÿ His license number was a new one so I figured it was the son of the guy that sat at my table.?ÿ I needed a question answered so I called him.?ÿ Turns out it wasn't my buddy's son...it was his grandson.?ÿ?ÿ
So I asked how his granddad was doing.?ÿ Granddad's been in the ground pushing up daisies for a few years now.
you know you are getting old when......
I keep having dreams about old buddies and girlfriends back in my Elementary School days. Looked them up on the Internet and all that shows up is their Obits.
I've noticed the older I get the more frequently memories of the days of my childhood come to the front of my mind.?ÿ I'm guessing it's probably common.?ÿ And friends that have passed away are a big part of my memories.
I had a dream the other night about an old running buddy of mine that's been gone about 5 years now.?ÿ In the dream he had dried and flaking white paint on his face.?ÿ I've seen similar face paint on photos of Australian Aboriginals.?ÿ In the dream he knew he was dead.?ÿ He laughed and told me, "It's not too bad".?ÿ Creepy, for sure.
I also found out recently another close friend had died.?ÿ Years ago we had made a pact that whoever went first would make an attempt to "come back" and contact the other if possible.
I've seen no signs yet...but things that 'go bump in the night' get a lot more of my attention than they used to.?ÿ ;)?ÿ
