I usually buy the leather gloves at Ace Hardware and they last for a little while. Got to thinking if there wasn't a better choice for gloves.
I found a http://geierglove.com/products.html&apos ;">site that sells an assortment of gloves. Wondered if any of the selection would fare better than the standard leather glove.
Anyone have experience with something besides standard leather gloves ?
Never had a pair myself, but my field guys swear by these: http://www.mechanix.com/hardware/cg-heavy-duty
They seem to get pretty long wear out of them.
Those look substantial, FN. The cheap $10 leather gloves I usually buy have the finger tips wear out, and the palm stitching fall apart. I was looking at buffalo hide or elk hide wondering if that was tougher. There has to be a long cuff to keep briar vines from sawing into the wrist. Thanks for the recomendation.
I use the fingerless Working Hands found at Wally World most of the time.
When I want full protection I get the Lucas McCain style that has the cinch strap for when you want to be serious.
For general underground work when it is dry.
For staking when it may be wet.
For getting into something nasty.
These are my favorite. They get a little hot in summer time. I actually first found them at Walmart.
